Is David still in prison?

I was wondering is David Brown still in prison? I was watching this movie and this thought popped into my head. I hope he is because in my opinion, HE IS ONE SICK PUPPY!!!

reply

Yes he is there is a book about this case called If You Really Loved Me by Ann Rule most book stores have it.

reply

will david ever get out of prison?

reply

no as he got LIFE

reply

Only this morning, I finished reading the book that this movie is based on. The book is called "If You Really Loved Me", by Ann Rule.

Yes. He got life without possibility of parole. The interesting thing, going by the book, is, even the Judge spoke point-blank to him, telling him that if it had have been a Death Penalty trial, the Judge said he would have willingly given Brown that punishment. He even said (to Brown at the penalty hearing) that he was Worse than Charles Manson, in that, at least Manson didn't use his 'family' like Brown used his own. I have to admit, reading the book--(especially since the Author updated her original 1991 edition, to include how everyone is doing now)-- was very satisfying. Anyone truly interested in this case, should read her book. After reading it, I plan on watching the movie.. well, when I can, anyway. It doesn't appear that this one is on video yet.

Per Ann Rule's website - Love, Lies and Murder was based on Patti Bailey's story, not Ann Rule's.

reply

i have the older copy of the book, could anyone share with me how cinnamon is doing? this book broke my heart.

reply

Cinnamon was married, but apparently her husband committed suicide in Las Vegas last year. She has a child.

reply

yes i heard that too

I know this is kinda weird, But I was actually living with Linda & Pattys brother in 1987. I met David Brown once while dropping of their mother at a bus stop because he didn't want us to know where they lived. I met Patty a couple of times. I am stillin contact with the brother and have even talked to "Mary" which she is the sister in law to the Baileys, and was taking care of their baby for awhile. They did change the name of the Baby in the movie to protect her. I haven't however heard that Patty's husband commited suicide... I don't know if I'll ever find this posting again so you can email me at [email protected] if ya wanna.

reply

Patti's husband didn't commit suicide, Cinnamon's did.

reply

Yes, as someone already stated above, in Las Vegas apparently. For those of you who read Ann Rule, she updates from time to time and these updates can be found in the newsletter section of her website @ www.annrules.com. I am always curious about how Cinnamon & Patti are doing. I remember watching the movie long before I realized it was based on a true story and before I started reading Ann Rule. I thought both her book and the made for TV movie (I'm not sure who wrote that one) were excellent. I've got the movie on tape but to be honest, I don't even know if we still own a VCR!!

reply

This movie was on Lifetime yesterday and this morning. I read the book many years ago and when it first aired on television, I could`nt wait to see it. I was very impressed. The book is far more insightful though. I plan to get the updated book.
jrzychris-1, if you look around your house and discover that you actually don`t own a VCR, they still sell them. They`re cheap nowdays, but NOT obsolete.
Forgive me, but people look at me crosseyed when they see that I have two VCR`s next to my two DVD players in two rooms of my home. I still have loads of tapes! What are you going to play them on?

reply

What are you going to play them on?

You could always transfer them onto a DVD ala a DVD recorder. I DVR'd this ealier this week and plan to edit out the commercials and trasfer it to a disc. A great, and truly heartbreaking, film.

I'm glad that a**hole got life and I hope he's having a real hard time there which i'm sure he is since word probably spread about what he did to Patty as a child, even murderers hate that.

reply

They're selling DVD/VCR combos now at Best Buy, for around 80 dollars. They've VERY easy to find. Also, you could probably pick one up in any thrift store for around twenty bucks.

reply

I feel bad for her. According to Ann Rule's site she hasn't gotten many breaks in life.

The man molested his sister-in-law as a child and had his daughter kill his wife, I hope he never gets out.

reply

I hope so!

I'm glad Obama won, but I will not jump on the Pro-Choice bandwagon

reply

Well I'm pro choice and this scumbag David Brown should've gotten the death penalty!!

It was CLASSIC to see him get BUSTED for conspiracy to commit murder when those 2 cops confronted him when Brown thought they were both dead due to the hit he thought he hired!!

I would've LOVED to see his expression in real life!! PRICELESS!

reply

He died in 2008.

I'm starting with the man in the mirror.

reply

Are you sure? I saw on the Love Lies and Murder site that as of February 2013, he was still living and behind bars. I don't see anything indicating that David Arnold Brown had died.

Get me a bromide! And put some gin in it!
