this show didn't come out in 91

I remember very clearly watching this show every saturday morning when I was in kindergarten back in 1985.

reply

There was also a 1974-75 version of this show.

reply

yes there was but I didn't know about that one until 1998.14 years after watching the remake.

reply

Yes it did. If it came on when you claim it did I was only 3. I was definitely 9 or ten years old at the time because I had notebooks and folders for school with that stuff on it. Plus http://www.tv.com/show/4979/summary.html

reply

Yep, there was a short-lived version from '91. I did some of the closed-captioning on the episodes.

Then you must be the only person in the world with a tv "time portal" cuz that jeep they drove in the show was an early 90s model. ...retardo...

I KNOW this aired when I was 11 and I watched it every Saturday. Now I remember watching the original airing in repeats during the early 80s...

reply

26 episodes ... 13 in 1990 and 13 in 1991. We weren't officially cancelled. The Krofft's pulled the plug on the project, despite ABC's desire to do more, because of contractual obligations that would have made a 3rd season more expensive to produce... among other reasons.

Oops, spoke too soon, make that 2 retardos with Tv "time machines"...the rest of us clearly weren't dropped on our heads as babies and KNOW for a fact that this aired in the early 90s!

reply

Yeah, they're clearly talking about repeats of the 70s version. Like someone else said, they drove an early 90s jeep cherokee, so it's impossible to have watched this specific version of TLOTL. Darth is right...

There was another version in 1974-75. Than there was this version made in 1991.

Actually, baseheadboy said nothing in his post to imply that he thought the remake was on at the time that the original poster said. He just emphasized how old he was when he watched the remake -- and that he watched the *original* in repeats in the early '80s.

Tho it is dark . . . know our flag . . . is still there.

ABC = Already Been Canceled.

reply

I think they were referring to they watched the 70's version in the 80's before the GOOD one came on (he he)

reply

agreed darthballz1701 i have seen some episodes of land of the lost 1974 on tv and i think the 1974 version is better than the crappy 1991 version because of the writing when i was 7 years old in 1991 i though the writing was bad and really cheesy looking dinosaurs expect for the stop motion animation was impressive other than that the visual effects were cheesy to, like i said the original was better!

reply

It was rerun in the 85-86 school year cuz i watched the 70s version reruns that year, doing my laundry (i was in college) on Saturday morns in the common area tv room

reply

Well, I remember getting kid meal toys when I was 6 and that was back in 1991. I doubt they would've released the toys for this show in the kids' meals if it was just the reruns of the 70s version.

Besides, I watched the first series of Transformers in the mid to late 1990s right before Beast Wars aired. It's very likely what you saw was a rerun.

reply

yea so nobody has really explained this clearly. on sep. 7 1974 the first episode of land of the lost aired. the series ended dec. 4 1977 durring its 3rd season. on sep. 7 1991 the remake of the origonal series aired and ended dec. 31 1992 durring its second season. reruns of both series have aried over the years which has understandably caused some confusion.

reply

Didnt this version come on Nickelodeon too?

reply

Yes, they had it in syndication. That's where I watched it.

reply

Again YOU are WRONG!!!!!! If this show was in 1985, the kids would be much OLDER then they appear. I loved this show more then anything else and I am sure I am not the only one.
