Michael Murray's wife
Just watched this again on DVD - is there any particular reason why we never see Murray's wife's face?

shareHi,
It does seem a little strange doesn't it.
It was the same with the wives of Arthur Daley and Columbo...
BTW, still a superb series. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Could just be a silly gag, the faceless 'er indoors; or could be a literal nod to the fact that she's effectively a nobody in the story. She is not involved in any major part of the plot, Murray is never with her etc.
Hard to say for sure.
It's not who you know, it's who you blow.
Perhaps Alan Bleasdale is a fan of Norm Peterson from Cheers.

She's just portrayed as his other life screaming at him for attention, something he's left behind and is a nuisance rather than of any importance. I think she is not shown in order to keep her as a non-entity in the story. Just another monkey on his back he's desperate to shake off.
