10 Episodes or 7 ??? (As being shown on Freeview, UK) Editing ????

Saw this was on and it was a classic of its time, cant remember much about it, was 20 years ago, wasnt it a bit of a satire on the Liverpool MP (Oh Whats his name). I remember good acting though. Storing it up on my PVR.

However I always thought it was a 4-6 episode mini series sort of thing, so was surprised to see 10 episodes on my PVR. I thought they may have been double recordings, but no, all different titles. (ie the Forth episode is called "The Messengers Ride Forth", this is not listed on IMDB)

IMDB shows 7 episodes, all of which have titles relating to episodes on my PVR, however PVR has 3 extra titles (such as mentioned above)

I am a bit confused. I hear the Freeview showing has been edited but have they "split" episodes too ?

Is it worth bothering to watch or has it been really hatcheted ???
