Compare THE MATING GAME to this series. No real comparison

I really liked the Debbie Reynolds movie as an adolescent but less so as an adult. Only now I find it was based on the British novels sourced here. All sorts of generalizations spring to mind. Hollywood vs Britfilm, generational views of 50s vs 80s/90s, Condensing vs expanding, cultural cross pollinating. Both are kind, gentle entertainments that inspire one to long to be more caring.

I just found this show on Prime and you're right, it does inspire one to be more caring. I caught the Debbie Reynolds movie a couple of months ago on TCM and I liked it but I think this is even better.
