Why Can't Disney Make A Channel Showing Just Classics

I grew up watching Goof Troop, Talespin, Chip N Dale, Ducktales, and at night on Vault disney Zorro, Ink and Paint Club, the Wonderful World of Disney. i was just wondering it wouldnt hurt no one if they put on these classics, because they do bring back fond memories. If any of you have any family or friends in the Disney Channel Association, tell them that.

I wish! But man that would be awesome to make a channel just for the classics! Bring back Darkwing too! And Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy too!
Maybe if someone were to start a petition, it may happen!
I did notice however, that movie producers are bringing back a lot of the classic, and turning them into movies! They`re making an Underdog Movie now! I saw the trailer last night! Too bad Disney`s too cheap to make a Darkwing Duck movie!

Me 2! I wish 4 a Disney channel w/ just classic cartoons! NO anime crap, & none of the Jetix *beep* They should bring back Darkwing Duck, Marsupalami, Gummi Bears, Duck Tales, & Bonkers, 2!

That's a great idea! I used to watch all these as well and I would be sooooooooooooooohappy to see them again!

And Nick shows too. The channel should have......

Doug
Darkwing Duck
Tiny Toon Adventures
Salute Your Shorts
G.U.T.S.
Rocco's Modern Life
Chip and Dale
Talespin
Ducktales
Goof Troop
Ahh! Real Monsters
I don't know.....There is a lot of classics shows that they don't run anymore. They play crap like Hannah Montana and Zach and Cody. They are just making young kids stupid watching that crap.......OHHHH and BANANA's IN PAJAMAS....just kidding.

Aw what about The Ren and Stimpy Show?
And old Cartoon network shows like Cow and Chicken?
and Courage the Cowardly Dog?
Eek the Cat, hm can`t think of any others.

I would be so happy to see them again, too! I would also be happy to see a Darkwing Duck movie as well.

Keen gear!

What's funny is I thought that was the reason Toon Disney was started initially, to show the classic shows. At least most are now on DVD.

Yes, the music score was very well conducted, too!

I agree with you! Toon Disney was supposed to show ONLY Disney Afternoon shows and other 90s classics! Why have they ruined it with the Jetix crap?!

The problem with Toon Disney, Boomerang and Nick-Toons are that they've forsaken the very shows that made them their own branch network channels. Toon Disney was suposed to air nothing by the classics(the old Walt Disney cartoons that used to air during the 80s on the Disney Channel), as well as the awesome shows like Duck Tales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck and such. While Jetix has some classic toons(particularly the old Fox Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons from the 90s), we could really do without Phineas & Ferb, or all that other anime crap. The point being, Disney has gotten so much into making a profeit, their schedules don't show no love. The reason why they are shoveling all the newer cartoons on Toon Disney is because the regular Disney Channel, basically, is being crowded with more-than-needed multiples of programming. I mean, you have, like, Suite Life of Zack and Cody being aired 3 times a day, Hannah Montana being aired 5 times a day, and such. They overplay their popular shows to hell and back, not leaving much room for more original programming, as in a lot of those stupid modern toons. So those modern toons get dumped on Toon Disney, inching out the space of the classics. Hell, if you could just limit, maybe, one episode of Hannah Montana, one episode of Suite Life, one episode of Life with Derek, PER DAY, you could probably free up the schedule on the original Disney Channel to fit the classic shows into the block. I mean, we don't need 4 airings, back-to-back, of That's So Raven, do we?

Same thing happens with Nick-Toons, and Nickelodeon, in general. How many times a day do they air Spongebob? It's the reason why mankind always kills it for themselves: MODERATION! Moderation keeps the order and balance. It's like you having a kid, and your kid wants a piece of candy. You give your kid candy, but they want more. More more MORE! Do you adhere to your kid's wishes? Do you appease them? No. Why? It leads to results that may not be within the best interests of you and your child. Tooth decay, obesity, and your child becoming desensitized to sweets. No fun! Same thing can be applied to television, or even music. Ever like a song so much you had to listen to it over and over, on a constant loop? Eventually, you DO get tired of it, even more so BECAUSE you heard it OVER and OVER and OVER again. you get sick of it! That's not good at all, esepcially if the song IS good. You want to keep the experience fresh. Overexposure = Bad.

An easy remedy keep everybody happy(us old schoolers and the younger new schoolers) would be to moderate the schedules so that both new programs AND older programs could air. Don't forsake the shows that made Disney TV big!! I mean, without stuff like Darkwing Duck, there would've been none of these original Disney toons. Hell, even toons, I wouldn't mind seeing So Wierd or Adventures in Wonderland make a comeback. Even if it's really early in the morning or very late at night. Same with some of the older Nick shows, like You Can't Do That On Television(that's where the whole "Slime" mascot came from, anyways, yet a lot of kids don't realize how vital that show was to forging the image of what Nickelodeon was all about), Pinwheel and Today's Special. For cartoon Network, all the original shows they'd air when CN FIRST started out, like Down with Droopy D, Tex Avery Show and Toonheads! A perfect mix of new and old would be AWESOME! Hell, it could make new fans of some of the classics. You'd have kids that NEVER were exposed to older shows, gaining more interest in them, thuse be a little more open, a little less shallow, and the world would be a little bit better place.

i agree with just about everything you said, and on moderation, kids these days need more of it, on everything, they watch too much crap and not getting as much exposure to morals as they should, kinda explains the rise in bullying and how it gets worse, older shows at least had some kind of lesson to teach, on shows that werent on disney but still were good, things from the 80s for example, these days all they get are mindless programming, visual gags and catch phrases, and when i see the commercials for this junk, i have to ask "WHY?!?!?!"

they need to cut back on their airings of their new shows, if not cut that out for a while, until they learn some common sense and start making programming fit for families and not just sell out, but return to their roots, and air shows like tiny toons, i remember that show having some values to teach, like not cussing, not smoking, etc... someone needs to make a petition for a return to classic programming, not just a classic channel, a boycot would be good but likely impractical, i wouldnt know how one could organise that.

someone for the love of god please show a little mercy and kill me
