It would be nice to have a Darkwing movie that picked up from the end of Steerminator. I just have to say that unless it were done very well, I'd rather it weren't done at all. Darkwing should be done in 2D animation (in my opinion). I wouldn't like it if it were CGI and I'd hate it if it were live action (nothing against them - it just wouldn't be right for Darkwing). Oh yeah, and I'd hate it if it were turned into a musical.
I used to be a TMNT fan and didn't think much of the live-action movie for a while...until I decided the character development and relationships made it better than the cartoon. I'm a much bigger fan of Darkwing, though, and I wouldn't be as forgiving there. How could human-sized live action ducks not look awful?
Disney wouldn`t make a Darkwing movie if their life depended on it! They`re more interested in poor art, no plot, kindergarden made cartoons, and Anime right now! Now, if all us DW fans made and signed a petition, them, it Might (very small chance) happen. but we`d All have to seriously convince the Disney Company that kids of the 2000`s would love the film.
and with the Spongebob fad still going around, it will be quite a challenge (And I like Spongebob myself!) But I`ll still dream, and wish! Yah they should keep it 2D style! CGI would ruin the mood, and charater design! And live action would destroy it! They could make it like Roger Rabbit, but even that would be terrable!

I agree! a couple short songs, fine! but that`s all! 2-D animation would be best! DW wouldn`t look good in 3-D! Sure they made Donald look good, but I just can`t see Darkwing like that! Classic animation`s the best! if they insist on modernizing it, however, just the backgrounds! hand painted, and cgi`d to look more real! like in Brother Bear, and Bambi 2. But I`d say that`s the limit! The most they should modernize the characters, is simply use more pictures per frame, just to make the images move more smoothly! in other words just take their time to make it look and sound as cool as possible without ruining it! And please, please keep the same cast! changing their voices would totaly ruin it! Jim Cummings makes the best voice actor for DW!
I can't picture DW with any other voice. Luckily Jim is still in the business (he does such a large percentage of Disney voices... it'd be a shame to the company to lose him).
Too bad Christine Cavanaugh, the voice of Gosalyn, has retired.
U R right, vappy. There can never B another voice actor who can replace Christine Cavanaugh, & it's a tragic shame Hamilton Camp, the voice actor for Gizmoduck, died.
They probably could pull off a CG Darkwing movie if the style resembled that of the old cartoon, but I'd love to see it traditionally animated even more. I actually think it would work well either way because the cartoony style can be emulated through CG to look the same but more detailed. I'd like to see both, actually...
I don't want 2 C any of the computer graphic *beep* Nuh-uh! I only want it traditionally animated, not live action. The characters better stay IN character!
If only the Ducktales movie hadn't bombed, then we would have gotten a DWD movie. As for a plot, I can't think of anything cooler (or lamer) than Taurus Bulba/Steerminator taking over the world, and Darkwing must join up with his foes to stop him.
Oh god, I have been dreaming of that for my entire life! A big Epic DWD movie with the original cast? Droooooool....I think it should be animated like the Simpsons Movie. CGI and classic animation. The story should be about some evil force coming to destroy Saint Canard and DW has to team up with the Fearsome Five somehow...like "The Dirty Dozen" or something cool like that!
St. Canard's nocturnal crimefighter, Darkwing Duck must pursue Negaduck to stop him from taking all the riches of Ducklantis, the lost continent which has been sunken into the sea eons ago. Once the treasure of Ducklantis falls into the wrong hands, havoc and destruction will befall upon the seas, creating angry storms, winds, floods and hurricanes which could destroy all of St. Canard!
I totally agree with what everyone said. If they were going to make one it HAS to be in 2D. Anything else would ruin it. And the original cast would have to do it, there's just no other way. It wouldn't be the same. Maybe we can petition to Disney! ;)

Just wondering (and no offense implyed) , are you referring to the fact that John Lasseter ripped Chris Sanders' 'American Dog' movie to shreds and replaced it with the decent Bolt, upon becoming head of the Mouse House animation board? I know the guy is trying to get Disney's animation slate back to basics, but he probably doesn't have any love (or knowledge) for the Disney Afternoon series...
The good news is that CG animation doesn't have to look like Toy Story or Shrek.
You can go the route of Futurama or The Simpsons Movie where characters and foreground objects are animated by hand and backgrounds are CGI so the backdrop is always "spacially correct". The alternative is to with the Adult Swim method and use Flash animation. It doesn't look as good, but it's pretty cheap. In fact Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters was animated with this method and that 90 minute movie only cost $750,000 to make. By comparison Cars had a budget of $120,000,000 for 116 minutes.
As for plot, I'd love to see some kind of Tarus Bulba/Negaduck dual villian. You don't want too many villians because that would make it difficult for adudience members not familiar with the show to follow. We can go the Batman Forever route and put Darkwing in a scenario where he's forced to choose between protecting his identity and defending the innocent. That's a little difficult without Gosalyn being voiced by Christine Cavanaugh. We can also go in the reboot/Batman Begins route and ignore the TV show to create a new kind of Darkwing Duck.
