Try The Mighty Boosh, but that's very surreal. It's got magic and really weird plotlines, and is about two guys who work in a zoo, and then in the second series they're living together.

Have you seen Red Dwarf? A sitcom set in the future on a mining spaceship, where the main character, Lister, is the only man alive left in the universe, because he was put into suspended animation for three million years. He's accompanied by a hologram of his old room mate, a man who evolved from cats in the same way we evolved from apes, a robot, and a computer.

Maid Marian And Her Merry Men. It's like Shrek in that it's great for all ages. Used to show at family viewing times, but students absolutely loved it and parents thought it was brilliant. It's the 'true' story of the Robin Hood Legend, and was written by Tony Robinson, ie, Baldrick from Blackadder. The story is that it was actually Marian who was the leader of the gang, and Robin was a gullible, vain, cowardly, metrosexual/yuppie tailor. Deliberately full of references to the modern day, and political/cultural commentaries and parodies and so on. I love it, as evidenced by my signature.

Father Ted- a sitcom about three irish catholic priests who live in a really small parish, one's young and stupid and actually an atheist, one is elderly, violent, drunk and senile, and one isn't exactly good at his job and is desperate to get off the island and/or get rich. They got put there as punishment, and they always have schemes and adventures. It's not religious propaganda or something, nor is it that insulting to religions. I think it's fantastic!

Black Books- written by the same guy as Father Ted. About a grumpy irishman who runs a bookshop, but hates his customers. He's joined by a really nice guy who is his assistant in the shop, and his best friend, a woman who doesn't really know what to do with herself.

IT Crowd- written by the same guy as Father Ted and Black Books. About a few geeks and nerds in an IT department of an office building, and their 'manager' who doesn't know how to use computers, but she's their manager because she lied on her resume and said she was an expert.

ah, the first episode of Red Dwarf has to be the weakest.

This is a show that I really enjoy but it's not really like the others. Goodnight Sweetheart. It's a romantic comedy series, a britcom, about a guy who can go back in time to the second world war. It's... gentle humour, but I love it anyway, since it has that level of sci fi, the history, the romance story, I also like the characters... it's not madcap humour but it's amusing.

This is a miniseries britcom, only 6 episodes and no plans for more, but Let Them Eat Cake. It's set in late 1700's Versailles, and it's a French and Saunders thing, where it's a Countess and her two servants who live in one of the apartments in Versailles.

Have you seen any of The Goodies?
