I know the episode you are talking about well... we never were told what the others are doing while 'the centre is closed/whatever pending the trial' and I don't think we can consider what Carole wore to the witness box as true to form.
it was series 3 premier and I wonder if them reviewing what happened that day was like if they had 'that day' be the series 2 finale, just mixed in with season 3 premier just to save time. and the time in between, we don't see because it is not important.
