The Australian Cast

I've posted on this forum before, proclaiming this mini-series to be one of the best shows...ever!

We decided to do a DVD marathon this week and again watched it in awe. The subject matter is so convincingly portrayed by the actors.

My question is this. I am only familiar Brenda Fricker and of course Russell Crowe. Are the actors who play the other main characters big in Australia?

I find the performances of Mother Ambrose, Sister Catherine and especially Sister Paul to be so moving! Hats off again to these wonderful performers! All of them!!

Well Naomi Watts (Francis) is internationally renowned!!! She's been in the ring, king kong etc..

Lisa Hensley (Sister Paul)is on a tv show named The Know which is on the channel MAX. It's a show where they talk about the up and coming movies, CD's, books etc.

Kym Wilson (Rosemary)is also pretty famous. She was in the original McLeod's Daughters film and a few episodes of All Saints. She also played a pretty major part in Heartbreak high.

Yikes!!

I forgot about Naomi Watts, sorry Naomi!

Thanks for the information on the other cast members.

My personal Number One is Melissa Thomas, who really doesn't get the recognition she deserves in the cast credits. True, there wasn't a Brigid episode, but there wasn't an Agnes episode either and Brenda Fricker got top billing (admittedly, right after her Oscar, so I don't quarrel with it). Brigid Maloney is an extremely important character in the miniseries, especially in the Frances episode and the concluding episode, and to a lesser degree in the Rosemary episode as well.

Anyone know how Melissa Thomas is doing?

Manuscripts don't burn.

Simon Burke and Phillip Quast are also famous (not as much as the others)
