does he die?
when i was younger, (the first time i watched it) i got the impressed he died in the war.
but then when i watched it again, it seemed that he was still over there. does anyone know which it is?

I first saw this on A&E in the early 1990's and bought the VHS tapes right away because it was so impressionable and terrific. I just watched again (it's been too long!) and it appears that the last time Dominic is mentioned, which is near the end of the series, his mom (Mary Maloney, aka Brigid's mom) just suffered a miscarriage and said she really wanted another boy "in case Dominc does not come back". So, unless there's a book out there that I am not aware of, it's left totally open. I hope he does come back and hooks up with Rosemary. It was good to see that she and her baby were back together with her family at the end where she's dancing with Frances and Brigid at the local "milk bar".
