Who is Marjorie?
The name 'Marjorie' appears so many time in the first season, I was just curious if anybody knew the origins of the usage of 'Marjorie'.

The Doctor: What a wonderful butler, he's so violent!

Same with "Mr. Deliard" (spelling?). I've always been curious as to the origins of that name as it seems to pop up in skits every now and then.
shareYes, I, too, wondered who Marjorie was throughout the entire series... While Mr. Dalliart is mentioned only in connection with shops, Marjorie is not only a constant reference in the "business" sketches, she is also mentioned in episode 2, season 1 in the "language" sketch:
And yet, oh, and yet, we all of us spend all our days saying to each other the same things time after weary time. ''I love you'', ''Don't go in there'', ''Get out'', ''You have no right to say that'', ''Stop it'', ''Why should I?'', ''That hurt'',''Help'', ''Marjorie is dead''.
So if anybody knows the answer to the question, it would be greatly welcome! :)

They also seem to have quite an obsession for the surname 'Medlicott', rather an excellent name!
shareI know I love the name Medlicott!
May I suggest the footing of your ass? -Red Forman
I think this is just a case of Fry and Laurie finding the name funny. A lot of comedy troops have names they like and use over and over. For example, if you watch a bunch of Monty Python episodes, you'll notice that most of the male characters are named either Eric, Kevin or Arthur.

Exactly! Eddie Izzard rarely uses any male name other than "Jeff."
shareYou leave Marjorie out of this!!!!!!!!
shareDon't forget Midgery Marjorie.
