Loved the movie, the Animated series not so much

Don't get me wrong.I loved the Back To the Future movies.I have the 3 of them on DVD.The cartoon was another story.I know in the films they focused on Marty's family in this one they focused on Doc Browns. The one thing that bugged me was the use of slapstick humor. The films did not rely on that.I agree with the reviewer that the series was watered down.

It was an early 1990's Childrens cartoon series. its not really unusual for Childrens Cartoon adaptions to takeon a more humourous and silly tone, and the show mainly focused around the few aspects of the Characters that would stick out in a Childs mind, and exagerated them. The same applied to Beatlejuice. I mean, in the movie Beatlejuice was an antagonist, and Lydia was freidns withthe dearly departed couple who had prigionally owned the house, an dhis enemy. The cartoon series made them freidns and didnt show the oher ghosts at all that I remember. If they did it was sparingly.

They also dressed him constanmtly in his black and whie stripped suit, thogu he only wore it in two scenes.

And they focused on his weirder mroe zaney behaviour.

Or look at "Evolution". I mean sure, it as a comedy mvie to begin with, but, the series was even more ridiculous.

So this was really just part pf the normal xourse taken in animated adaptions for popular series.

There was also a cartoon called "Little Shop" based on "Little Shop of Horrors", but Seymour and Audrey were Junior High Kids and Audrey was Mushnik's daughter. Also, Junior (the plant) wasn't bloody-thristy and evil, but friendly and tried to help Seymour.

Is it bad that I remember that cartoon and loved it as a kid?

*sigh*

I really do miss the 90s.
