Christine!

Just a thread for people to show their love of Christine - IMO one of the funniest and most under-rated characters on this show. Kim Benson did an awesome job as the mouthy, Cockney plumber's mate - it;s a shame she doesn't seem to have done much work otherwise.

Go Christine!!!

Oh I absolutely love her. For me Bill, Rona and Christine were the three best written and acted characters on the show and all were women.I wish we could have had some scenes with Christine maybe having a girly time with Bill and Rona however I can see why she wouldn't lol

She had the most excellent one liners aswell.

Yeah I think Christine stole every scene she was in. Loved her buddy buddy relationship with Ben too, they worked really well together. I agree about this being a show about strong women - I can't imagine another actress doing Bill as much justice as Belinda Lang did - she played the strong, independent women having a mid life crisis so well that she NEVER became preachy or annoying the way a less capable actress might have made her. Julia Hills, too, played the feisty, man-hungry tramp with aplomb - I can only liken her to Blanche from the Golden Girls (lol) in that she never felt tacky, just feisty.

Got to throw in some love for Christine dressed up for the Klingon funeral btw - LMAO!!!!!

In most sitcoms there are ususally 2 characters that hate each other. This is something they never did on 2point4 children unless u count Jenny and David (which I don't because that's just sibling rivalry) or Ben and Jake (which I don't because he doesn't appear often enough).

I think it would have given an extra dimension to Christine's character if she and Rona had not gotten along.

In this case I would say possibly Bill and Tina.

Let Zygons Be Zygons.

Tina only appeared once a series and the dislike was only on Bill's part.

I'm talking about 2 regular characters.

Like Sharon and Dorien (Birds of a feather)
Saffron and Patsy (Absolutely fabulous)
Blackadder and Melchett/Darling (Blackadder series 2/4)
Inspector Fowler and Grimm (The Thin Blue Line)

That kind of thing. I think Christine and Rona would have been funny as enemies/frienemies.

I don't think Bill actually disliked Tina, more was exasperated and annoyed by her even though she know that basically Tina was a well meaning but irritating and sometimes tactless woman who didnt ever mean any harm
