Elia Kazan said it was one of the best sex scenes ever filmed and I'm inclined to agree. It certainly was sensational. The Spanish just totally know how to make erotic and seductive cinema much better than Americans and here in the UK we used to be quite big on being liberal with nudity
( I think we share that with European cinema)
but I've never seen a sex scene in a British film as good as this unless you count the proper sex you see in 9 Songs and Intimacy, which is all very well and groundbreaking but still fairly boring (I mea we all do it and those films just made it look as dull and awkward as sex can sometimes be) but with Tie Me Up.. you get a heightened sense of arousal. It's just sooo sexy.
Victoria Abril is one sexy madam.Pedro was said to have filmed the scene 9 times and used the final take...wow!! no wonder they wee so steamy, going at it like that!!

That scene was the real thing. Had to be. Maybe there was no penetration. But I think there was. At the very least they were dry humping and getting off. One way or another they were making the beast with two backs.
