Why was Linda Blair's character written out of this picture? She was in about 2 to 3 scenes, fairly prominent, then she was gone. She didn't even appear in the montage at the end of the movie. Did she get fired or what? The woman that played a teacher after that was only in 1 rather brief scene.
shareI'm guessing she was only there as a thread to link the movies together what with her short story about Barney Springboro (probably the wrong spelling - sorry!). Sucks that she didn't have more screen time as she's ace.
shareAccording to producer Robert Rosenthal, both Scott Baio and Heather Thomas declined to appear in the sequel, even for a small role.
Heather Thomas character, Jane Mitchell, is re-jigged and played by Linda Blair (Miss Mitchell) in the sequel. I suppose Heather didn't want another role which basically consisted of exposing her underwear again.
Maybe they wanted a recognisable actress to help sell the movie so got Linda in for a quick cameo.
