The ending coda always brings a bit of a lump...

to my throat.

When we finally return to the presant and we see Billy as an old man and he says "You asked if I had scars, yes sir, I have my scars." and slowly turns and walks away with Alan Silvestri's music swelling up.

It feels like we're watching the sun setting on the life of this man who has seen and done more than any of us can imagine.

If you expect the unexpected doesn't the unexpected then become the expected?

Amen. Alan Silvestri is the man. Until he has to make way for Bon Jovi, of course :)

Couldn't agree more, still gets me to this day

Totally agree with you. I also get that lumpy throat when Chavez walks away to his death. From when he says, "Garret already took me," to when he turns back to Billy, who whispers "Chavez". Everything about this scene gets me, no matter how many times I watch it.

I agree about Chavez, seeing that quick shot of the spirit horse coming for him gives me chills.

IMO Young Guns II is that rarest of sequels that manages to be every bit as great as the first film and even improves on it in many areas.

Totally agreed, as well. I know it may seem corny to others but his movie IS powerful, it's followed me for around a decade now. Also love the moment where Henry French rejects his new nickname...killin' ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Very well said...There is so much emotion in many of the scenes in this movie, but that last one really hits you hard. It makes me feel sad for Brushy Bill Roberts if he was in fact Billy the Kid, because he had to live most of his life probably feeling a great amount of regret over everything that happened to him and his friends.
