Was Carré Otis really that bad?

I saw the movie the other day and I was actually surprised that Carré Otis was not as bad as everybody say. The director was a fool and made everybody look stupid, but you cannot blame the lovely Carré Otis for that.

I honestly don't understand anyone that thinks Carre was bad. Carre was amazing. She mesmerizes me everytime I watch her on screen, I can't take my eyes off her.

reply

maybe because you were wearing a mask.

reply

well, she got under Mickeys skin because they married for a minute.I dont think he was that great of a husband. You see he has been single a while.Carre'is a lovely girl, but i think she only be known as Mickeys ex wife.

Most of the time she looked like she was on the verge of tears.

Agree. While she's stunning in this film, the kindest thing I can say about her acting is that it's "wooden".

reply

b/c she realized how bad the film was? I'm not sure how she can be singled out when everything about this film was atrocious. The best actress in the world would not have been able to do anything with this material.

True, but when you compare Carre's acting with Jacqueline's, it was pretty clear that Jacqueline was doing a great job playing a character in a bad film, while Carre was just bad.

no, Carre may not have been the greatest actress, but she was naive and wonderfully erotic and imminently watchable, which is exactly what the part required. Some may view it as bad acting in a film so bad it's actually good. This is probably pretty close. That being said, it is one of my favorite movies and I can't imagine it without her.

reply

Yes, she was that bad.

I agree, her acting was disguisting and totally unconvincing. First of all, no lawyer in the world would have such a weak voice, and give the impression of being almost semicomatose. Being able to speak in an authoritative and convincing way, or charmingly/seductively when (and if) necessary, - in fact, being able to master many different intonations, - is a mega-important professional qualitiy for lawyers - as well as actors btw, and training for both professions includes speech classes. Otis's voice is completely emotionless, and almost all the time she sounds as if she'll die in about five minutes.

reply

Her acting was definitely wooden at times, but I thought she nailed the character at the core: a sexually naive and vulnerable woman. I also agree that I found her unbelievable as a lawyer, but I suppose her beauty was suppose to do a lot of the work for her, and she Carre Otis is certainly a beautiful woman.
Honesty is the best joke ever.

Wow, what a completely MORONIC comment. This is an erotic fantasy film, not an episode of "Law & Order." Nothing about it is supposed to be "realistic." And the fact that you can use the word "disgusting" (which you spelled incorrectly) while speaking of Carre Otis, just exposes the fact that you are a bitter and jealous woman who doesn't look so good..

I didn't think she was bad at all in this as well. She's wonderful and very gorgeous

No one disagrees about her looks, they just think a young Mark Cherry would have slapped her a couple of times to get a good performance out of her.

No, I'm laughing with you not at{against} you!

Carré Otis was great in the Wizard.

If by "not that bad" you mean she played a young actress in over her head in a role that really needed someone more near J. Biset's age, then you're right.

Otherwise ... are you blinde?

reply

Carré Otis was so damn hot, sexy and beautiful, I love this movie mainly because of her. Perfect chemistry between the actors and Mickey was doing a great job, too! And Carré made me like the movie, while Kim in 9 and 1/2 made me unable to watch it...

reply

It depends what you mean by bad...LOL

I enjoy, can't speak for others.
