The scene at the dinner table with the woman

The scene at the dinner table with the woman was incredible (about Jews). I thought Eastwood played his part perfectly. Incredible scene.

Why are they doing a sequel to Donnie Darko???

What's stunning about the scene is that Eastwood doesn't raise his voice at all, he's measured and composed and slowly just humiliates this woman so worthy of this humiliation.

Anyone who thinks Eastwood isn't a great actor just needs to be shown that scene.

The most effective way of putting someone in their place, shaming them is to be hard but to also remain friendly, thus the "more champagne" gesture.

Ok but what would have happened to that woman if she had been too stupid to "get it". I mean technically he was talking about another person and a different situation. He was not technically calling her an ugly person he was talking about a different person and saying what he had called that other person so if this bitch had not understood and had just sipped the champagne and said what an interesting story he had just told then what would he have done?

I would like to add that it was my favorite scene in the movie too, that guy was creative and clever and did not just do the obvious generic thing like tell her to get lost. He raised hurting a bitches feelings to an art form.

I am wondering if the "story" he told her was true (either in real life since this movie is based on real events or within the fictional universe of this story) or if it was just something he made up on the fly?

I think that actress should be commended too, in real life she was not a Nazi bitch and obviously her feelings were not really hurt since the entire scene was staged but it seemed completely real, her acting was the opposite of the crap acting we get in low budget horror films! It was incredible how hurt she seemed.
