We lived on 95th Terrace right across the street from the house facade in this film when they were filming it. I didn't see any of the actors, but some of the crew were in the McDonald's on 95th near Metcalf one night and I talked with them. They worked for Michael Landon's production company and told me they had only one week to build the facade of the house and then had one day to tear it down.
The funny thing, if you remember, is that McD's was right next to the house but they shot only the facade of the house with the big Sprint buildings in the background and made it look like the house was in a rural area with civilization creeping up on it. I only saw the movie once and marveled at how much effort they put into building that facade and how little they actually used it.
