Well, in lieu of an alternative, if someone needs to watch the movie, that seems the only option at present. It's a DVD made from a VCR-recorded TV airing, and she states that up front.

I deleted my post because as it turns out the copy I received from her while naturally scratchy, the other problems were on my end, not hers.
