Would like to view this movie

I have recently finished this book and would love to review the movie as to the subject matter. Does anyone know where this can be purchased or rented? Thanks!

The book is TONS better than the film. They Hollywoodized it. Truddi made the mistake of approving the film without seeing it because she didn't want to get upset looking at even a re-enactment. I saw this on Oprah years ago.

But Trudie was on the writing team! They must not have shot the scrip. The director wasn't fit to direct a Purina commercial. This kind of subject matter is simply too strong for any television movie. Trudie's book deserved to be put on the big screen and written and directed by professionals with a lot of courage.

I wouldn't mind seeing that either, as an independent film (Sundance?). I hope their stepfather dies soon so they feel like they can be more open and have more visibility. Then maybe it'll be remade properly. I know someone from college who has multiple personalities and he says it's not a disease and his "family" gets along fine working as a team. I've met some of his "brothers and sisters" and they act normal, not like a bunch of looneys. He didn't much care for this film but says it was better than most.

I understand what your friend is talking about. I hope he doesn't lose days of his life with out knowing where he's been or what he's been doing. Is your friend from college in therapy? Therapists always think that integration is the only route to go but i know that that kind of thing would be like losing loved one. It's lonely. I assume he doesn't remember anything that happened to him to make him create the alters? Even if they did remember, they wouldn't speak of it.

Yes, I agree. The Truddi Chase story would make a very informative and harrowing piece of independent film. It might be too demanding for the audience to sit and watch it tho. It's so... like daggers in your eyes..... cause it's an autobiography.

He says it has never happened that way because they always shared memories. They always shared memories of their childhood, backed up by their birth family including abuse, but also wonderful times and places they wish they could return to. Everything I've seen proves what he has always told me; it's a real family, a team. They all talk about the abuse and verify it with relatives. When they talk about it it's like talking about the Holocaust; never forget. Then they say "all for one and one for all." If anything happened to make them that way, he says not abuse but emotional neglect and feeling alone, and it must have been early infancy. If they meet any babies inside they "adopt" and care for them. He would want me to say that their life is not perfect and that there are other problems caused by the abuse (like it's hard to trust people). He says (I hope I'm remembering this right) the abuser had the disorder, and abuse is the disorder, being multiple is not.

very haunting, disturbing movie... talk about never forget, there are scenes from that movie that I can still recall vividly and I saw it once 20 years ago.... amazing.

I have only heard about Truddi Chase and most interested in seeing the movie or real live interviews of her. I have D.I.D as me Di I would be intrigued to see how Truddi coped with this.

I have this on DVD, not the best quality, but beggers can't be choosers, it ends with the shirt, is that the end of the movie, where she chooses finally to cooperate with the personalities and not integrate, or is that just the end of part 1?

You remind me of Tyler Perry right now. You're joking but you're not funny.
