I watched this movie for the first time over the past weekend. While watching it, I started to wonder if this movie was the inspiration for the series "E R". Anybody else agree? (If not, don't feel obligated to say so-ha). I had never even heard of the movie, but I do adore "Mr. Pasdar"--WOW, that Dixie Chick he's married to is one really lucky woman!! He is friggin gorgeous! So, was this movie the inspiration for "ER" or perhaps "Chicago Hope"??

This really feels like a pilot for a TV series, but I rather doubt that this inspired anything. This is very entertaining, but it's a weird mix of romance, melodrama and slapstick. Plus, I don't think it was much of a hit.

More than likely, "E.R." and "Chicago Hope" were inspired by '70s hospital dramas shows like "Emergency" as well as '80s workplace series like "L.A. Law" and "Hill Street Blues."
