about the same as the 1956 movie?

i really like the 1956 movie version, great powerful acting too, and i had thoughts about watching this, but i thought it probably wouldnt't come close to the 1956 flick anyway. i think generally older movies seem more powerful and captivating. would you recomend this?

way out in the woods,
the right path i took,
i walked the mysterious way,
to the hut of the seductive bohemian gina's place,
in this old little house here,
she places me in a chair,
throws her scarf back around my neck,
and pulls me towards her breast,
dances like she hardly touch the floor,
in spite of the walls her loose clothes and hair blows,
and i just sit back,
and gina does her dance,
and i'm so lucky i found this magic path.

I thought the 1956 movie was much better than this one.

They're completely different movies. This is not a "version" of Lust for Life.

Lust For Life is sort of like a broadly romantic approximation of Van Gogh and his circumstance while Vincent & Theo in its understatedness looks and feels like life itself. Nuanced and murky, never easy to get a handle on.
