This incredible movie is running the chance of becoming extinct. I for one have never owned a copy and have been searching for years to find one. I keep running into walls......It's out of print. Here's hoping that some movie execs. will wisen up and re-release it!

Just expensive...
Also, take my advice and buy all the other movies that are available...good movies will no longer be available soon...all there will be is Dr. Doolittle, High School Musical and incredible crap such as that...until they dumb us down so bad we won't be able to put up a fight.

I just got a reply from Possible Films, which is Hal Hartley's company. I was told that later this year, there will be a 20th Anniversary Edition of the film, available from Possible Films.

It’s been 20 years since the theatrical release of The Unbelievable Truth, in which Hal introduced audiences to the talents of Adrienne Shelly, Edie Falco, and Robert John Burke.
On October 19, we’re releasing a new, special 20th Anniversary Edition DVD with lots of pictures and a never-before-seen doc which includes interviews with Hal and Adrienne Shelly (as far as we know, the only footage of them interviewed together) as well as Robert, Martin Donovan, and Thomas Jay Ryan.
As I write this, there are Blu-Ray copies, (new!), for under $15, (shipping included in that price), on eBay. BTW, that listing has "more than 10 copies" at the buy-it-now price of $14.99, free shipping... And the DVD versions seem to be around $12 --- go figure.
According to the boilerplate description, the exact release date of the Blu-Ray is May 14, 2013.
