If you ever needed a proof that Romero was a terrible director.
This is it.
Both stories are below average, but at least Argento's part was like a film. Romero's half looked like an afternoon TV show.
This film is poor yes. Argentos is the superior part yes.
However Romero directed numerous good films. Namely Night of the Living Dead, Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow and Day of the Dead. Even Land of the Dead was alright.
I haven't seen The Crazies but I know it has some fans.
He was a capable director. He did direct some dross but then most directors have. I mean speaking of Argento he's made some quite poor films and other horror legends like Carpenter, Craven, Hooper etc, etc. have poor films on their resume.
