QUESTION.......

In the first segment, when the doctor would hypnotize himself, how was he able to wake himself up? They never explained that in the movie. All he said to Adrienne Barbeau was 'when I go to sleep, you won't be able to wake me up. Only the voice of the person hypnotizing a person can do that", or something to that effect.

Maybe he hypnotized himself to wake up after a certain amount of time passed?

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for.

Good theory, but I think its the responsibility of the movie makers to explain this to their audience. I hate watching movies or tv shows where they throw us stuff we can't understand, and they don't bother to explain.

maybe a recording of his own voice would play; like an alarm clock.
