The real girl this movie was based off never died

I saw this movie once quite awhile back and just today, I decided to look it up on wikipedia.com. This film is based on Attina Cannaday, who murderered Ronold Wojcik in 1982. She was born in 1965. According to wikipedia she sentence or the death penalty of minors was reversed in 1984 and she is currently serving 1 life term.
