Any thoughts on the on upcoming TMNT film?

Personally I think we'll still be getting the same garbage, but who knows. Maybe it'll be better, although I think only slightly.

I think it looks fantastic! Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady and Casey Jones? I'm in!

I think it's pretty cool seeing Krang and Rocksteady and Bebop brought to a live action movie. But I fully expect the film to be the same mess of CGI.

Turtles fans have been waiting a long time for those characters in a film. They need to be done well or else they risk alienating the fanbase. Though trailers are never a good way to judge a film, I get the sense that at the very least it'll be better than the first one which I found just ok. Nothing special or memorable. While I still hate the design of the turtles at least now I'm used to them so it won't be such a distraction.

I cannot wait, Sanke.

Yeah, I mean, if it's good then that's cool but so far, nothing is telling me it'll be good.

Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang and Casey Jones isn't enough to pique your interes?

RIP Tony Burton. RIP George Kennedy. RIP Doris Roberts. You were wonderful in ELR.

reply

They interest me, it's just a matter of execution now.

The trailers look decent. I'm definitely going to see it.

It looks really sh!t like the last recent one. I mean, the turtles look like freakin orcs for christ sakes. What an eyesore seeing these grotesque freak things like something from your worst nightmares. The CGI also means the creatures don't have the personality of the ones in this one who were brought to life physically on-screen with real people and real costumes - you lose that sense or organic-ness.

I also don't like how they made the turtles basically black & urban. It's better when make-believe stuff like turtles have no discernible human traits such as race. It reminds me of Lucas making the aliens in The Phantom Menace sound Japanese, Jewish or Middle Eastern. It just kills your imagination. It should be neutral and non-specific, but I guess Hollywood feels obligated to appease certain demographics and insecure people these days.

I've seen it yesterday and thought it was a really good movie, I liked it better than TMNT 2: Secret Of The Ooze, TMNT 3 and TMNT (2007), it was nice having Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang in the movie.

reply

Having them there is a huge plus.

It will never measure up to the originals, I grew up watching these as a kid, and it holds a special place in my heart.

reply

True, but I did enjoy it.
