I remember seeing this on opening day as a kid and man, they don't make movies like this anymore.
Sadly most film makers today have lost the art of practical effects and rely too much on CGI. I also realize the 1990s style reflected the cartoon back then and the TMNT movies of today reflect the recent nickelodeon cartoons.
Still love the 1990 movie the best and can't find a better Casey Jones!

A lot of you people think that they've have replaced the magic and mystery of "how did they do that?" in the movies with "just do it in a computer." But anyone who actually does graphic design knows that there is no "just" about it. It's just that most laymen can't understand the technical aspects of rendering, shaders, etc and practical effects are much easier to explain, so you think that CG is as simplistic as waving a magic wand and making stuff happen.
