Which story was the best?

I liked "Lovers Vow" The best. I mean its sorta sad but also good. The rest were ok but I mostly like this one most of all!

reply

Yeah. The cats from hell section sucked! Just plain lousy.

Can't friggin' believe Romero wrote the cat from hell thing. I liked Lot 249, it was kind of cool the way the mummy shoved the hook up the kid's nose and started pulling out chunks of brain.

Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun - Bruce Campbell - Army of Darkness

I like all the storys in the film....but, the last one, lovers vow, has always been my favorite....I think i like it best because of the strong emotional connection between the 2 characters, the dark vibe the story has, the cool ambient score, and the awesome, and very creepy gargoyle creature.

I agree, "Lover's Vow" was easily the best story of the 3. "Lot 249" was cool too, but "The Cat From Hell" was just stupid.

Your bargaining position is....dubious, Megatron

Lot 249 was my favorite segment.

I also think Lot 249 was the best--by far. I would give it an 8 or 9 out of 10 by itself. LOvers Vow is pretty decent--nice twist at the end. I agree the cat story was the weakest but it seemed intriguing for about ten minutes...

I second that, I've always loved the Cat from Hell. It's funny, gory, and scary at the same time. Then Lot 249, then Lover's Vow. The last tale was too sappy for me when I saw this back in the theater in 1990 and it's still to sappy tooday.

My favorite one was Lover's Vow when I was a kid because of the unexpected and very gory transformation. Seeing it today, I notice Rae Dawn Chong's performance and a few throwaway lines that hint at it throughout the story so there was more to it then I originally thought. Sure, it's sappy but it's only to make what happens at the end even more tragic. The guy had a perfect life and ruined it by wanting to share his deepest and darkest secret with someone he truly loved. Pretty damn sad, if you ask me.
That said, Lot 249 is my favorite story today. I think I was a pretty stupid kid because only now do I realize who the bad people really were in that story. Or maybe I had better morals... For some reason, back then I didn't get how badly Steve Buschemi's character was being screwed over by the other three, so I didn't think sending the mummy after them was really justified. Now, I think it has a happy ending.
The cat one was good but it was and still is my least favorite of the three.

"Lot 248" was my favorite, then "Cat from Hell" then "Lover's Vow". I might have liked Lover's Vow more if I hadn't guessed the ending once Rae Dawn Chong was introduced.

reply

lol i only got around to watching the middle of lovers vow and it was a WTF moment when that chick transformed into a gargoyle (on the level of grossness as the fly).

reply

I loved the cat one! It was funny and when he (SPOILER!!!)

crawled down the guy's neck it was SO nasty!

But my favourite was the mummy's curse one.

Yeah people criticize this one but I was laughing constantly. Maybe it wasnt supposed to be that funny but that is why it made it good especially when at some points you can tell its a fake cat like on Sabrina the teenage witch. Hey was that Salem who played that role lol.

My favorite segment was "Lover's Vow." James Remar and Rae Dawn Chong were excellent in the leads. Plus the gargoyle was genuinely creepy and the ending packed a very strong emotional punch.

Lover's Vow would have been awesome if I didnt end up guessing that the guy's wife would be the monster. I hate when I guess the ending to movies.

Now I gotta change my signature because the Patriots didnt go to the Super Bowl!!!

Like apparently most people here, I liked "Lot 249" the best also, though I also liked the wraparound story with Deborah Harry. I thought nothing here was outstanding, though nothing here was bad either.

'Cat from Hell" was my favorite as it was Funny and creepy at the same time- i loved how fake the cat looked at timesl, like when it was smothering Alice Drummond! LOL

absolutely no contest in here

it has to be this film's the most remembered and innovative story: Cat From Hell!

last story was ok, but neverminded about that kind of stupid special effect monsters what we see in it, nice too see Commando-chick on film though.
