There is a direct-to-DVD movie called "Creepshow III" that was released in 2006. Not a lot of people like it and think it unworthy of the Creepshow name. Neither Stephen King nor George Romero were involved with it. He is saying he considers this movie the third Creepshow film rather than the other movie.

Many people would agree with that opinion. Wikipedia had this to say about the matter "The film is sometimes said to have been intended as Creepshow 3, a sequel to George A. Romero and Stephen King's popular horror anthologies Creepshow and Creepshow 2. However, this is not supported by any real evidence. Tom Savini has been quoted as saying that this film is the real Creepshow 3, which could be how the rumor started, though he may just have been referring to the similar nature of the movies and the involvement of King and Romero. The story titled "Cat from Hell" was originally going to appear in Creepshow 2, but was scrapped due to budgetary reasons"

A Romero/King CREEPSHOW 3 was planned around the same time this was made. This is not and never was intended to be CREEPSHOW 3, officially or unofficially. You have a problem with the 2006 sequel, that's fine, but I wouldn't even say this film is worthy of that title.

Well this is better than that 2006 DVD turkey Creepshow 3 and is kind of Creepshow esque from King and Romero only without the animated segments wraparound.

Movie is absolutely worthy of the title and I trust Tom Savini's word over yours dork.

Maybe with a rewrite.

I trust Tom Savini's word over yours dork.

Even if Tom is wrong.

Why does it need a rewrite?

Why does it need a rewrite?

Have you even watched the first two CREEPSHOW films? Where's the Creep? The comic book panels? These stories are darker, and lack humor. There's no 1950's comic book corniness.

This could have been CREEPSHOW 3 with a rewrite. If they had made this film as it is and then at the last second slapped the CREEPSHOW name on there, I still wouldn't take this for a sequel.
