Was the cat evil?

Ok, so we know the cat was a killer, but I'm often torn as to whether he was evil or not?

On the one hand you can totally understand him wanting to get revenge on Drogan for all the cats he's murdered with his drug experiments, so if it was just him the cat killed then I'd say the cat wasn't evil, and was just doing justice.

On the other hand I don't see why the cat killed Drogan's sister, her friend and even the butler guy? None of then had anything to do with what Drogan did, and his sister and her friend even tried to help the cat, and gave him milk.

Or maybe I should stop looking so deeply into it and just enjoy it for the good horror film it is?

the cat killed the sisster and the other old woman cuz they were living a rich life...and these money were coming from drogan activity...so they were all guilty i guess

Or it was meant as psychological torture directed towards the rich guy: eventually he was not physically murdererd by the cat, he was *scared* to death.

Remember when the old guy is explaining to the hitman why he believes the cat is after him (revenge)? The hitman laughs and says something to the effect of "so, you believe they sent him?"

I think that was a charming little parallel: in a way, the cat is a hitman too. And in the ensuing battle between the two hitmen, the cat proves the intellectual superior of the human, masterfully orchestrating the death of his victims.

In other words, that cat was a real pro.

This cat was particularly evil. Sure, a ton of cats died in pharmaceutical trials that probably saved the lives of untold thousands of humans and that's one of those mixed blessing things. But when you see a creature crawl down the mouth of a man and kill him from the inside, and YOU are a human, then if you see anything other than evil ... you are insane.

Very well put. I suspect cat lovers would think the cat was a victim, and dog lovers would see him as evil. Even if his brethren were used in experiments, the cat was evil incarnate. Does anyone really think he would have been Mr. Snuggles if the hitman wasn't trying to kill him?

The cat, our "Noble Demon" [not in Trope terms, but cause terms] was meant to be the Anti Hero, I believe. "Working for a good cause through an evil means." Basically, "Good Is Not Nice," or even "Unscrupulous Hero." Was just a classic karma illustration and that's all I really thought of it.

I don't think so. The cat was after Drogan for killing thousands of fellow felines so he could make his fortune.

When I was a kid, an older neighbor kid was sadistic and killed a cat by strangling it. I was prevented from helping the cat because I was 5 and this kid was 12. Literally, I feared if he could do this to a cat, he could do as much to me.

I do not even remember the kid's name today.

But, I remember the look on that cat's face. It was as though it was cursing the kid, and gave me a look like it also blamed me for its death. This may be why I am severely allergic to cats today...the trauma of seeing it die, not from some feline mumbojumbo. Still the look was as if that cat was possessed by the devil.

I eventually had one cat. We lived on friendly terms. Yet, when he died...choking on his own vomit from a sickness...the look on his face was that of torture.

I have also had pet dogs die...from old age and disease, not from violence...and always the look was that of a loving friend saying goodbye.

Well, the opposite of evil is good and the cat was not good.

Other evidence: The cat suffocated the hitman – by crawling down his throat into his belly. And the The title of the story is also [u]Cat From Hell[/u] so...

I would say the cat was evil. not a good bone in its body!

The cat was far from evil. It killed the sister and his sister's friend due to them living the good life off of 5,000 cats lives. If they lived off their own money in a different home then the cat would have never killed them. If my sister was rich off of animal cruelty from experimentation, I would want nothing to do with her! The butler was bad too. I kept shoeing the cat away and then was driving to put it down. The hitman killed at least 24 people before trying to attack the cat and when he took the job he was doomed. Someone had mentioned all the lives the 5000 cats saved but in reality the drug was stated it was like a higher form of a street drug. It had a hallucination effects and was highly addictive. Plus, animals should never be experimented on. Millions of health problems can be avoided by not taking pharmaceuticals and eating properly. That means non-gmo, organic, avoided additives, sugar, etc....also by getting in a some good exercise. Basically animals lose their lives and suffer daily because people would rather pop a magic pill than take care of themselves. The cat was far from evil, people are...and if you want animals to experiment on then great! Expiriment on the murderous inmates on death row.

the whole family lived off of the money from the experiments. and this wouldn't be the first time someone's innocent family was targeted for their wrong doings (hello every mob movie ever).

also as stated, this was considered a bad drug. hallucinations and addiction. a step up from street drugs. even the hitman said it was *beep*

It's am avenging angel in a sense. Punishing the wicked and immoral. If the Hitman had not pursued the cat it probably would've let him live.
