He mentioned in the review that he wrote (on the front of the Soultaker IMDB page) that the movie was cut up for the MST3K version. He said this made Soultaker make no sense. But I wonder, what didn't make sense in the edited version of the movie but made sense in the unedited version?

Many of the movies featured on MST3K are cut to about 80 minutes long, either for time, nudity, graphic violence, or that particular version just so happened to be the copy they obtained. The unedited version is 94 minutes long. I wouldn't say the MST3K version makes no sense. Soultakers are obviously Grim Reapers, the girl is the reincarnation of Joe's character's wife, etc.
I think the director is just bitter the film found a bigger audience through MST3K.
