Heh, watching it now, came to find out a little bit more about this movie. So far, its pretty odd, but not as graphic as other people made it out to be. Its weird, but not at all unfocused, it has a consistent story. For some reason, the atmosphere reminds me of the movie "Repo Man" with Emilio Estevez, not that they're even closely similar, but check that out anyways.

Well shot, competent acting, and a narrative unsettling enough to hold attention. It almost has a scifi quality to it, with the desert setting and all. Some of the music feels uneasy.

Also, its interesting the character that Carradine plays, it adds something to the background of his death, does anyone else think this? Eh, maybe that's looking too much at it.

I find it incomprehensible that this movie wasn't made int he 70's. It looks very 70's.

I've been wanting to see this movie for (I kid you not) about 7 or 8 years now.

Now that I've seen it, I can't say it was a let down. Not quite the last masterpiece I had hoped, but still a really intriguing movie.

I have no ideas what the intentions were behind it, but it's oddly moving, nicely acted, well shot. It's really something.

I hope I have a chance to see it again.

What's with the lack of a DVD release? There's an audience for this kind of *beep*

I watched Sonny Boy on TCM last night (and recorded it) and it was pretty obvious that they were broadcasting from a VHS tape. It was really low resolution and several times I could see those tell-tale tracking blips up at the top of the picture. Is this film really so rare that an old bargain bin VHS tape was the best that TCM could rustle up?

In any case, I was glad to be able to see this incredibly weird flick and hope TCM Undergroun keeps showing oddball see-it-nowhere-else exclusives like this and "The World's Greatest Sinner" and "Gokke, Monster From Hell."

It's being aired right now. I should have stopped by, but I figured the alert would be out. It will be followed by a movie recently aired on TCM: "The Baby". It's one weird, weird, creepy, strange night on TCM! They definitely have guts!

I caught it last night as well. And yes, their still broadcasting their VHS of the movie. They even aired the old school VHS FBI warning before the movie.

Saw this film, followed by, "Baby" on TCM a couple of weeks ago. I was grateful for the nasty experience. These brave films lift the veil of lies that we tell ourselves in order to feel clean, safe and innocent. Meanwhile, the children in these films are sacrificed... go figure.

That's when I saw it.

What's interesting is that -- I had no idea what the movie was before it came on the air...turns out, I saw this when I was a kid.

There were scenes like where the girl picks up her bf on the motorcycle -- I saw it as a kid. When I saw the movie and that scene -- I realized I had seen it, probably in 89 or 90....right around the time the movie came out...

Will this be on TCM again anytime soon?
