Alan Smithee is the fake name that is always used instead of the real director's name, when the real director is so embarrassed about a film that he has asked to have his name removed from the credits.

Only the edited international version of this film was signed by "Alan Smithee". The end credits of the longer Japanese edit state "directed by Richard C. Sarafian".
