WHO WROTE THIS *beep* SCRIPT???

Did nobody else think this 10 minutes in? 20 minutes in? Repeatedly thereafter, at regular intervals throughout the *beep* movie, with the *beep* unrealistic dialogue and barely phoned in acting - WHO WROTE THIS *beep* SCRIPT?

AND WHY WEREN'T THEY FIRED????

It was a bit of a mess but I commend what was attempted. Sadly, it didn't end up so well.

Hilariously awful! So, the Earth is in danger of being destroyed by a giant solar flare. But, that isn't enough drama, as it turns out. So, endless manufactured drama has to be whipped up. Peter Boyle wants the Earth destroyed because...reasons. There are endless "Perils of Pauline" type stuff where the mission is beset with potential disasters every few minutes.

Not to mention that the directing is beyond tone deaf. Richard C. Sarafian has directed competently before. But, he never directed anything that was high budget (for its time). The dude comes across as not knowing how to direct actors or action. Or has any idea about how pacing works and is obviously oblivious to what a train wreck this script is.
