I seem to think so, and I've seeked out some of the strangest ones ever made. This one indeed takes the cake. Loved the Daughter in this she is a crazy good actress and really plyed the un-hinged role really well. Would love to see more of her. The dysfunctionality between the Mother and Daughter ranks up pretty high in the cannon of film, Truly un-paralleled.
I feel the same. This film is the weirdest thing I've seen in my life and I've seen many rare films. I just saw the movie yesterday and today I woke up with this strange sensation in me. I'm still very impressed by this film.
Before seeing it I knew that I would find something very strange and bizarre, but I never thought the film was going to be this way. The film is not only one of the weirdest movies I've seen, nor one of the best horror films I've seen, but one of the best movies in general I've seen in my life.
I think that when a film leaves you these feelings so strong within you, is when a film worked as it should.
Yes my friend, I loved the daughter in this film, was an impressive performance from the actress and I bought her every move and every word she said, besides her beauty and sensuality, or sexuality and crazyness if you want, was amazing and overwhelming. The mother character was also amazing and the connection between these two makes the whole film works perfectly.
We must have a very very open mind to see this film, this film is not for everyone. The paraphilia you see in the film may damage the morale of some people.
PS: Call me sick, but I'm in love with the daughter! (but please, remove the vomit :S!!!)
This film is pretty unique but off the top of my head, I'd say The Holy Mountain is weirder. Just imagine having to put those outfits on all those frogs.

Both The Holy Mountain and Singapore Sling are amazing, and in my opinion, they can't be compared~ they both represent 2 examples of the most extreme Surrealism that can be found in cinema, but they serve different purposes in the end; or not. Now I'm confused. =P
In any case, both films sink deep into my brain's recesses and inspire some very strong emotions in me. Hmmm~ T.H.M. is a crash-course in Occultism and the transforming power of symbolism; S.S. is sadistic, artistic almost-pornography that utilizes shocking scenarios as a metaphor of the director's own torments. Or something. Both are masterpieces to me.

I don't know that it's the most unusual but it's certainly right up there. Others that spring to mind include Sweet Movie, A Zed and Two Noughts, and 3 Women.
