Strange, strange movie.

I happened to see this at a used video store recently, and I remembered watching it a couple years ago, and it was only a couple bucks so I decided to buy it. And man, it's still as weird if weirder than the first time I saw it. It's an okay cheesy horror flick, it's typical low budget, but it's never the less very strange. I think the only scene that stood out was the attack on Kim and her boyfriend in the apartment. Other then that, there wasn't much else, just a bunch of weird stuff with cult like witches and strange bug creatures.

I'm actually kinda surprised nobody's posted on this board, but I guess not many people know about this movie.

I rented this movie around 7 years ago and I've been so lucky to find other viewers here. I agree with the weirdness. I think it's what makes it appealing. I've just ordered it from Amazon on video, so we'll see what I think 7 years later. It'll be interesting.

Did anyone think the end was cut somewhat - she's giving birth or something I seem to remember and it has frozen image shots - or was that another BBFC meddle?

reply

I checked it out on the BBFC website a few months ago- I think they cut something like 6 seconds out of the British video release of it (Bugs).

This movie was very weird, I liked it though. It didn't follow Silent Night Deadly Night 1-3 at all. I still enjoyed it, I've never seen a huge cockroach in a horror movie before lol. Plus Clint Howard is hilarious, that guy cracks me up!

Yeah Clint Howard is almost always awesome.

"Santa Clause Killer!"

i love how he just walks in on them having sex, sits at the foot of the bed and turns on SNDN 3.

also in the beggining when he picks up the burger.

I thought the sheer strangeness of this film was what made it so creepy and effective. The plot was real freaky and different, plus all those giant bugs were genuinely icky and disgusting.

Strange movie indeed. I was expecting another slasher film, but I got so much more. The acting and direction was pretty bad, but the visual effects were most inventive for a movie of this caliber. I'd much rather watch this a another teenage vampire movie, or almost anything else Hollywood is producing these days.
