Short Time on DVD?
Anyone know if this movie will EVER be on DVD? It's IMPOSSIBLE to find, even on VHS! :|

I think you can get the VHS from Amazon.com, but no DVD. I wonder who should be contacted to get that movie on DVD?! I haven't seen it in about 15 years, and I would really like to see the car chase again.

shareIt is available on Region 2 DVD in PAL format, so if you TV/DVD or PC can play it you can order it from the UK...

Hi, I received a copy of Short Time on DVD from a fella in the UK, but it is for Region 2, United Kingdom. I was able to change my region on the DVD player to view it once, but unfortunately, it's not a permanent solution. (You can only change regions on a computer DVD player 4 or 5 times, and I gave up 2 to watch it and change back to region 1). I thought eventually they would make this title available in the US, but it hasn't happened yet to my knowledge (let me know if you know otherwise), or they aren't making it anymore. I hope that they make it available in Region 1 (USA) soon. (Sorry for the grossly huge post!)
shareIn the UK you can get Multi-Region DVD players [for the TV]. They're only about £20 or so more expensive than regular, Single-Region players. I would assume that they would also sell Multi-Region DVD players in US.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the car chase scene was good.
shareFWIW, the famous car chase can currently be viewed on YouTube (where else?). I just searched and verified it before writing this post. The person as who posted it is a big fan of the movie as well as he asked what we've been asking "when is the DVD going to come out as well.
Now my personal theory as to why it hasn't already is there must be a hold up on music rights, i.e.:soundtrack song by a one hit wonder whose looking for a major payday. With many other movies and TV shows being held up for this reason alone, TV series Miami Vice being a prime example, this happens more often then you think. Still no ones making any money at all on this right now so I'd hope something would eventually give here. I too would like to see this movie in its entirety including the aforementioned famous car car cause!
Amazon has a couple of options for DVD now... but the cheapest one is $29.99 plus shipping. Region 1.

I burned a DVD of it from HBO. Cost about .35 cents. It's perfectly legal to record anything broadcast on television. Just like VHS tapes.

It is not like they could not throw it in with a low end double feature pack. I do not even think that this is available on any major streaming service yet. I now believe someone is embarrassed by this film and is trying to hide it in every way imaginable.
