Did anyone else notice that the police partners are named Burt and Ernie? I think that is hilarious!

I noticed, did you notice dabney coleman's character is named burt simpson? Curious if this movie was the inspiration for bart.

No considering the simpsons came out a year before this movie

No. "Bart" is an anagram for "brat".

Burt and Ernie? I think that is hilarious!

Small Difference. On Sesame Street it was spelled "Bert"(short for Albert) and in this movie it was spelled "Burt" (short for Burton) so they're technicially different names.
