Droll, Black Little Comedy

This is one of my favorite dark comedies. Caine is utterly convincing as a loving husband, friendly boss, and all-around good guy, who one day turns "bad" with a vengeance. Elizabeth McGovern does a great job playing apprentice to Caine's "sorcerer." I only wish that they'd made her more of a willing accomplice.

I saw this at 't' pictures - a rather enjoyable pic which really ought to be on the telly more often. Mind you I am a bit keen on bureaucrats being assassinated!

revenge-fantasy movies are there that're similar to this in aim, if not in style or quality? Falling Down is one I always wind up associating with this in the way that our deep urges for retaliation are shown released in all their vindictive glory without any fear of punishment. I do realize that Falling Down ends in an entirely different manner, and that ultimately there's nothing in common between the characters played by Douglas and Caine, but that common thread of revenge without fear is something I'd like to try to trace through more movies. Can you think of any others?

I'd pick another movie with Kevin Spacey - Swimming With Sharks.

-Goodnight, mother of six!
-Goodnight, father of two!

Yeah, it's actually a good film, and is another workplace-themed movie.

Office Space being a more light-hearted alternative to those two movies.
