Watching it on DVD

Just in pieces a bit each day. It's not very good but I like SH stories so I'll finish it. This Holmes doesn't seem as smart as the character usually is. Maybe when he wraps up the mystery I'll feel differently.

Not that great. Finished it last night. Holmes could have been protrayed smarter, but it was OK. Fairly exciting ending.

Perhaps this version of an older Holmes is meant to be a bit senile...

The attempts at light comedy made Holmes seem duller than his usual razor-sharp self. The whole thing was dull, and Morgan Fairchild was a bore. The music was intrusive and even the title sequences were shoddy.

I disagree with the opinions about Morgan Fairchild. She looks super hot!! Look at that amazing cleavage she shows off in the opera rehearsal. I want her badly.
My question is: why was this not concluded? It seems the production ran out of funds when this was made.

LOL! Of course it was properly concluded. You must have missed the third and final episode, in which the would-be assassin was exposed. The miniseries would have been financed as a single production, and it certainly wouldn't suddenly "run out of funds" like you suggest. In fact, they filmed the sequel "Incident at Victoria Falls," which was part of the same project, immediately after wrapping this one up!

Of course this Holmes doesn't seem as smart as the character usually is. In the first episode he makes a big deal about how his mental acuity is fading with age. How could you miss that?
