I think this movie is great. Great dialogue, humor and action. I don't get why people hate it so much. It's a good buddy cop film, but then again, I love the genre.

I don't understand the flak it gets either. Imo its a feckin classic. Vintage Clint at his badass best and Charlie Sheen plays off him well too. On top of that its got the only rape scene i've ever actually enjoyed ;) Sonia Braga is hot.

the 'cigars are disgusting' line was subtle great writing. right after the dad tries to bribe someone.

I think it is rated fairly for what it is, although it was made in 1990, it felt like i was watching something from the early 80's.

For the most part I agree with the OP. Though it had its problems, and was far from Eastwood or Sheen's best, it was still a fun little film.
