Is it realistic that Rocky would have to move back to the slums?

Surely he could do stuff that while may not get him as rich as he was but better off than living in the slums. For example he could do commentary, tell autobiography, movie cameos and commercials, personal appearances, work out videos, could maybe even sell his life story to some network like Lifetime or any B movie producer.

reply

It was very realistic he had to move back to the slums. See Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson

reply

That's exactly right, a lot of athletes end up flat broke. A good example of a fighter who ended up exactly where he started was Joe Frazier. Even after having been The Heavyweight Champion of the World. Even after having fought three epic battles with Muhammad Ali - he ended up right where he started. SO, yes, certainly, what happened in Rocky 5 is realistic.

He eventually landed back on his feet with the restaurant and then later his comeback fight and training Adonis Creed.

"He eventually landed back on his feet with the restaurant"

i never like the idea of rocky running own restaurant. he would be running a gym and training fighter, that is all he know. rocky does not have head for business. you see this in first 5 movie when adrian teach him how to read and he cant get regualr job.

i dislike rocky balboa. bad film compare to original 5! contradict many thing in it!!

reply

This is just dumb post
Probably the second best in the series after the original
Better acting, no mtv montages, real characters in top form. Great story
A real modern throwback to the original

reply

Nope. Boring writing, no stakes, no impactful scenes, crap characters, mediocre acting. Adrian's best performance was in FIVE. Balboa is not only a snoozefest with zero stakes and a corny plot for a worthless fight, but it's also almost completely forgettable and there's no reviewability because nothing happens in the movie. Nothing changes except what? Rocky and his kid bond a lil? They did that already. Who cares. Some mystery meat kid gets a job from Rocky? Again, who cares? People respect the champ? Who cares! Completely uninteresting character. Charisma vacuum.

You have a garbage palate

reply

Awww you mad there wasn't enough golf in Rocky V? Can't back anything you say. Typical from someone who enjoys such a boring worthless sport.

reply

You’re a DOLT
Golf is not a sport, it’s a highly skilled game
I’m arguing with a ten year old at this point
Not enough explosions and car chases for ya in Rocky Balboa??? What a card

reply

parroting insults. You couldn't be more NPC if you tried. If you ever get a working brain, maybe you can actually back any moronic statement you try to make, but who are we kidding, that's asking too much outta you.

reply

That’s your response? LOL

reply

You're a child. Im not wasting my time.
I say not enough golf, you say not enough explosions. Like give me a break. You're a waste of my time, and beneath me.

reply

You keep responding DOLT. I own you

reply

Imagine believing you own a total stranger over the internet. If you're over the age of 13 you should be embarrassed or ashamed. Take a shower, seek sunlight, touch grass, get a clue, have sex.

reply

Gotcha again. Who’s 13???
BwaaaWaaaHaaaa

I figure, given the name, it was something Adrian wanted to do and after she passed he kept it open in her memory.

reply

There is a scene that says alot of people basically cancelled him for the fact he used to collect for the mob

reply

Guy single-handedly defeated the USSR, who'd care if he needed to do some mob tasks decades ago?

reply

Tyson went to jail for rape which is much worse than being muscle for the mob.

reply

yes this is call 'plot device'.

rocky would get tv role or book and be enough to keep him away from old neighberhoods.

reply

No. Rocky is too famous. Far more so than even our real famous boxers. He'd sign a deal with Papa Johns pizza or Tide laundry soap or something and that would be the end of it.

reply

We do hear about lots of rich celebs that get ripped off by their managers or various bean counters.

I suppose it could happen.

Probably not, he was an American hero at the time I have a feeling that he would have commercial/endorsement deals left and right.
