0/10

The trivia part of this said that on a scale from 0-10, Stallone gave this a 0 and said is was just a money grab. Anybody know why Stallone thinks so little of this? Furthermore, anybody know on what did he say it. Was it Letterman? Access Hollywood?

He praised the movie when it came out and for the next few years until the late 90's, then he jumped on the hater bandwagon. Personally I think he likes it more than he gives credit. Especially with the passing of his son. He says he doesn't like how the movie turned out. Probably because by this time in his career he got lazy and wasent in the editing room. He actually wasent. He was to busy doing other things like golfing. Even John avildsen said it was hard to shoot because stallone wasent as determined as he was in the first film. If you've seen the directors cut of the movie, it's better and I can tell that, that was definitely avildsens prefered version. It was on the jonathan ross show in 2008 I believe. It's on youtube

Sly just joined in with everyone else in it being "hip" to hate Rocky V. At one point he even sort of blamed Avildsen saying that he should've directed it instead. But then Sly later took the blame saying that after all he's the one who came up with the story.

Rocky V has its issues but there are still some good elements to the film as well. The first 15 minutes or so are actually the weakest part of the film in my opinion. The set up of Rocky losing it all wasn't too convincing. I think the Rocky's son being older factor could've been fixed if they used a younger actor to portray Robert/Rocky Jr. greeting his parents at the airport. Then they could've did something to indicate that some time had passed and brought Sage Stallone into the film.

V has its moments. I really disliked the rap music and stuff. I read that Stallone was always on his cell phone and did this for the money.

Yeah Avildsen made a comment about how Stallone was always on his phone discussing other things during down time in filming. I like Rocky V but Stallone had lost his hunger at that point in time. I think he was also paid something like $25 million for Rocky V which might've been a record salary at the time.
