Seriously, would someone please explain(SOLVED)

First, i was shocked to see not much people posted anything about this movie.

Ok, thanks for your help.
I need to know what went on at the scene when everybody's on the table having dinner. The talk about vietnam, shooting a deer and all that mayhem. I couldn't pick-up what was the whole insulting part is about. Someone please explain it to me in plain english.

While im here editing "solved" Did you guys know that this movie (on dvd) is the only kevin Costner (TOP) movie that is not release yet here in Australia

As I remember, something was said about a Jaguar. The dumb guy was smirking about killing a Jaguar asking if they knew how he killed it. Jay asked him if he did it with his car. It was some kind of joke that I didn't really get either.

true, i was trying to find the connection around the convo. Suddenly, kevin was upset, (so, where did it start?) i'm assuming it's those imfamous quote, word etc "_" that i never heard of bcoz i'm lost for word.

I am very curious, so if someone else know anything that i don't (obviously) please, feel free to explain.

What Kevin meant was a sarcastic kind of answer- the guy was bragging about killing the Jaguar, and seemed like an ass. What he meant by "Your Car" was that he though he didn't have enough guts to do the job himself. Basically, Jay's comment offend the guy because he though he was a bigshot, and was talking tough to Tibby. Jay obviously thought the guy a blowhard.

Hope this helps.....

You have to understand "Macho" in latin countries. To say that he killed the jaguar with his car is to say that he killed it by accident or with no danger to himself, like a woman would kill it instinuating that he isn't a man. Hunting is a macho sport, especially hunting for animals which could hunt you. Bullfighting is another.

This thread is pretty old, but I want to clear up something that no one bothered to mention.

Cochran was insulted first at the dinner. The one mexican bragged about having a farm/ranch and implied that Cochran could go hunting and catch 100 of "anything." This implies that Cochran doesn't care about life (period) and he also implies that Cochran is some GIJOE/Rambo-type from Vietnam.

Cochran replies back "I don't want to kill 100 of anything" -- an homage to what hunting is really about. You can see Tibby's reaction here too -- which is a great shot of Quinn... his seathing, angry eyes.

Then in retaliation for Cochran's retort, the mexican starts the story about killing this Jaguar. When I first heard this line, it was funny -- you know, Car = Jaguar (maker of expensive car) -- but yes, I believe the pure meaning was like the others described -- a suburban hunter -- someone who couldn't kill anything if it wasn't standing in the road.
