90s Ray Ban advert and hot adultery Mexican cartel style

I've watched this film a fair amount of times now and I still can't tell whether it's good or bad; but what I can tell is that there are several scenes/clichés that have lingered and stayed in my mind. The story is straightforward and logical if you think about it - attractive young naive wife choosing between 80-year-old jealous criminal husband Anthony Quinn AND young hot-blooded green-eyed Kevin Costner. We all know how the story goes from here. But this story has its statement scenes, and almost symbolisms:

1) I couldn't not notice the plethora of Ray Ban sunglasses, from club-masters to aviators, all of which I am a huge fan of! If you need inspiration on what sunglasses to buy next, have a look at this film. I think you can still find to buy the original models.

2) THAT CAR SEX SCENE!!! Ok, it was more like foreplay than actual sex, but it's damn hot! especially since it was NOT directed! Yep, the director left Kevin Costner and the lady actress design and direct their own sex scenes! I was quite impressed with the way they chose to convey their passion and emotions. Their chemistry is genuine and undeniable.

3) The old husband's army of spies. The more dangerous the husband, the more attracted the lover is to his prohibited wife, despite knowing he'll get caught and end tragically.

What's your favourite scene?

I just watched this for the first time and like you I'm not sure whether or not I like it. It's not nearly as reprehensible as Scott's superficially similar Man on Fire, but it's also quite silly and stylised.

Your third point makes sense, and this dynamic was the strongest in the film. I wasn't particularly convinced by the men's relationship, but the chemistry between Cochran and Tibey's wife was palpable. The scenes they shared were the best in the movie, and the final embrace was genuinely moving (and a top piece of acting from Costner).
