How animals are represented

I am a student studying media at A level and I am looking at Disney films. I am researching into how animals are represented in these Disney films such as 101 Dalmatians, Tarzan, Aristocats and the Lion King.

There has been numerous research into this area. Some of this research states that animals are represented in a good way and there is nothing wrong with their representation. However, there are other pieces of research which state that animals are shown in a negative light and this could have some kind of bearing on how children think of animals as they grow up.

I would be grateful for any comments on this to help me get a view of what the important people (the audience) think.

I think the animals are represented fine. They are also portrayed as having human intelligence. Like how Marahute tickled Cody with one of her talons and how Jake is like The Crocodile Hunter. What did you think about Marahute anyway? Would you want to ride a bird like her one day? I do.

I'd like to take a media course...!
I've noticed that Disney animals are very human. The Lion Kind has the hero lions and the villain lion: Scar, and the Nazi-like hyenas. We can't forget the Jungle Book, either. We have Sher Khan versus Baloo and Moglee. In 101 Dalmations, the humans were villains, and in Tarzan, select humans were good and bad.
I think Disney is more sexist, rather than pro-animal. Watch some of the Princess ones: Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Little Mermaid...
Sleeping Beauty's prince defeats Maleficent- a woman. The dwarves kill the the Wicked Queen, and Eric from the Little Mermaid gouges Ursula.
