From 'Repossessed' Writer/Director, Bobby Logan...

Hi.

A friend of mine told me about this little forum regarding "Repo." I'm glad to see that it made so many of you laugh. It was a kick to make.

Currently I'm working on a feature film version of the classic 1960s comedy-western TV series "F Troop," and hopefully will get that before the camera soon.

In the meantime, if any of you would like to stay in touch, here's my web site:

Thanks again...

Mr. Logan

I really really quite enjoyed Up Your Alley. Kudos on that...and working with Linda Blair twice...nice going. How was she to work with?
What was your first job in the biz? How did you enter? Did you enter as a P.A.? How did you get to work your way up to directing? Meaning how did you land your first directing assignment?

I know these are pretty lengthy questions...but I'm curious as someone who couldn't ever seem to get past the P.A. stage...and certainly i have good freinds who are still hashing it out as P.A.'s on various shoots. Ok my best to you and your efforts on Get Smart.

Matt,

Yes, lengthy questions, indeed. But, let me try to answer them:

1. Linda is great to work with. I've directed her three times, two features and a direct-to-video special (where I first met her). She is also a dear friend and soooo devoted to helping animals, in particular dog. Check out her site: http://lindablairworldheart.org

2. My first professional job was as an extra in a 1980 movie called "Alligator" that starred Robert Forster.

3. I got into the biz by working at the Comedy Store (a nightclub in L.A. for comics). From there I started writing for young comics (Shandling, Kinison, etc), then got hired to punch-up screenplays -- then decided I wanted to make my own films.

4. Regarding directing, I wasn't being offered anything ---- so, I decided to make my own feature film. That was "Up Your Alley." Made it for under $100,000 and it made over $3 million worldwide.

Besides working on my "F Troop" project now, I also decided to help out aspiring filmmakers. So I started a workshop called the "1-Day $99 Film School."

Check it out at: 1DayFilmSchool.com

Hope this answers your questions.

Best,

Bobby

Man just hearing about F Troop brings back some memories of when I was a kid in the 70's and watching the reruns of the show in syndication! I loved F Troop! It was hilarious to watch along with Repossessed as well!

Rob,

Thanks for the kind words on 'Repossessed.'

I hope to bring you even more memories with ' F Troop' late next year.

Hey not a problem about the kind words on Repossessed!

That is great that you are making F Troop next year! That will be great! I hope it does show some dedication to the original show of F Troop. I went and saw Get Smart which was another one of my favorite childhood shows to watch growing up during the 70's and early 80's and they did a great job and even paid tribute to the original show.

Thank you Mr. Logan and good luck on your new film!

Rob
